I get on my knees - Jaci Velasquez

“I don’t know how, but there’s power when I’m on my knees”
Learn how to survive when you bend like the palm tree… (Selah)

Sometimes I think, “God must be making a big mistake. I can’t take anymore of this!” But God never makes mistakes on what, or where He has us. God works with our tough times, to grow us spiritually in the storms of life.

Psalm 92: 12 “The righteous will flourish like the palm tree...”  Palm trees are solid, strong, and immovable. They are not easily uprooted because their root system goes so far down into the ground. You can cut it, but you can’t kill it. They may bend, but they will not break. A palm tree always bounces back stronger.  The strength is in it's inner core and root system.

I remember after hurricane Charlie, hearing a pastor speak about the palm trees. He even showed film on how far down they would bend in the wind and floods of raging water, but they did not break. It was unreal, they would bounce right back up when the storm was over, even stronger.

Psalm 92:13-15, “planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish... They will still bear fruit in old age... they will stay fresh and green... The Lord is upright; He is my rock...” To flourish like a palm tree, means to stand tall and live long. Are you rooted in Christ?

Like the palm tree bends in the storm, so do I. Sometimes things can be so overwhelming, I’ll get on my knees to pray, and it feels like it’s passing right over me. Every time I rise up from my knees, I feel stronger, yet knowing there will be more to come.

John 5: 4-5 “For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcomes the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? ONLY he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.” Faith puts God between the storm and ourselves.

We can’t even think we will be well rooted if no storms pass over us. Whether we are delivered from whatever storm we are going through or not, we can be sure that all of God’s faithful followers are assured of eternal life with Christ. Until then, bend at the knee and you will rise stronger like the palm tree, more firmly rooted in Christ each time. Your roots will grow deeper and deeper.

Enjoy life;  resist the devil. He can’t steal your fruit the more you grow rooted in Christ, and bring glory to God.

I'll watch you Dance... Holly Starr

I don’t know about you, but I love surprises. As a grandparent now, I love to surprise my little grandson when he comes over. It’s never anything really big, but to him it is. I love when he takes my hand, and trust me on where I’m bringing him... to his little surprise.

Matthew 19:13-14 says, “Let the children come to me... For the Kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” As our little ones grow up, life will take them through many changes. Heartache and pain comes to all of us. When they are small they run to your arms for comfort. As they get older they trust that you will always be there for them,  leading them in the right direction.

Jeremiah 29:11 tells us, “I know the plans I have for you... plans to prosper you... not harm you... ”  As a parent, or any kind of leader, we should be encouraging the youth to keep moving forward. I watched this father in the gym the other day training his young son with weights. It reminded me of this scripture in the bible, 2 Chronicles 20:12 “We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you.” The little boy started to do the exercise that his father just showed him, and with every repetition he did, you could see that it got harder to do. He kept looking at his dad, who was watching him continue to do the exercise, and his dad encouraged him to keep it up, knowing that in the long run it was good for him to press through it. The saying we use in the gym is, “No pain, no gain.” That’s how I see it with our heavenly Father. He knows life is going to be hard, and painful, but He is always there for us, growing us spiritually. We are not going to be spared, pain, suffering, or hardship, but God will see us through. We have a choice to trust Him, and take Him at His word, or stay in our comfort zone. Like playing in the game, or being a spectator on the bench. (being a spectator is easy... Selah).

God’s word is there for us. The bible will open your eyes to so many questions you have. It is food for the soul. Jeremiah 15:16 “When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my hearts delight...”  This scripture reminded me of my mom feeding the little baby ducks the mother duck would bring right to her back patio. The mother duck trusted, and knew right where to bring her little ones to be fed, and they would eat until they were content. They would sit right at her feet, relaxed, because they trusted her. That just gave me a vision of our Lord. He wants us to trust Him, sit at His feet, and be fed with His word until our hearts are content.

Matthew 4:4 Jesus said, “Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” (Our spiritual food)

When we, “like children,” take His hand and trust our heavenly Father, “He’ll watch you dance when you see the plans He’s made for you.”

Grace and peace to you

Restless... Audrey Assad

Until we rest in Him, we will continue to be restless.

Sometimes I wonder why I can become so restless, even though I have Jesus as my Savior. My thoughts of things run way ahead of me, and I begin to become very anxious. Well that’s the problem right there. We should always, "Set [our] minds on things above..."  (Colossians 3:2).  Sometimes it’s hard, and I’m thankful God understands that.

Don’t ever let your mind leave the grace that opened your eyes for the first time, and you were filled with an overwhelming joy, and peace that filled your soul.

God says in Zechariah 4:6 “ Not by might, not by power, but by My spirit says the Lord Almighty.” The key word is “by My spirit.” God Himself has made believing a condition of receiving. Read John 1:10-13 -  “Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.” Until you believe, we are a creation of God, but not yet His child through Jesus. You have to believe, to receive the promises of Jesus Christ. That is the only way to the Father. Just like any parent wants to give to their children all that they can, so does our heavenly Father. Until you make that personal choice, you will continue to be restless.

He is the keeper of our hearts. We need to still our hearts to feel Him close. Unless we have faith in what we are praying about, and it is His will for us, we can be consumed by the very mountains we are praying to be moved. We have to realize, to receiving that peace that passes all understanding, is not going to come easy. The cost of our salvation didn’t come easy to God, it cost Him everything.
But as He builds His temple in us, the mountains will come down, and what He promised will be done. He sees our tired hearts, and when we become still, His love will make us strong again.

From a devotional: “Just as the dew doesn’t fall on a stormy night to cover the thirsty flower, either does the dew of His grace cover the restless soul.”
Luke 1: 20 “My words…will came true in their proper time.”
Luke 1: 45 “What the Lord has said…will be accomplished.”

So cast your cares so your heart can sing.

Let faith break its way through, as you let Him hold you, and continue to believe, wait, and pray. We can depend on God to fill every promise... “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are 'Yes' in Christ. And so through Him the 'Amen' is spoken by us to the glory of God.” (2 Corinthians 1:20).

Dare to believe, stand firm, refuse to be overcome! Get ready to receive! Amen!

The face of Love...

Proverbs 4:12 “When you walk, your steps will not be hampered, when you run, you will not stumble.”

There are times in this life you just want to know all the answers to your questions now. So your mind is thinking ahead a mile a minute. You are moving full steam ahead. God wants us to be confident of who He is, and that His promises stand true. So slow down, and approach every mountain with unmovable confidence.  “'Have faith in God,' Jesus answered. 'Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them."  (Mark 11: 22-23).

It reminds me of our automatic gates at work. When you keep moving forward slowly, they will open. But if you stop, they won’t open. And of course if you are going full steam ahead, you will run right through them and break them, then you have trouble. Well trouble comes when you are going ahead of God, because you’re doing what your fear and mind tell you to do. You are full of anxiety. Let God direct you steps and  “Cast all your anxiety... Be self controlled and alert... stand firm in faith...”  (1 Peter 5: 6-9).  Do what His word tells you to do, because the enemy is always on the prowl.

Stay on the right path with God when trouble comes. If only we could see things from above all our darkness. God has told us in Genesis 9:13 “I have set my rainbow in the clouds.”  God will keep His promises, and the rainbow was a sign that God is faithful to His word. So when you are in the darkness, remember the beauty of the rainbow of colors. See the bright light of Jesus Christ face. Also remember  “God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all.” (1 John 1:5).   Wherever God is leading you He will make it perfectly clear. He is not a God of confusion.

You want peace, He has it for you... You want joy, He has it for you… You want rest, He has it for you… Do you want to gain wisdom and know your next step? Then move slowly ahead with Him.

Read Proverbs 4...

Verse 7 says, “Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.” I love verse 18 and 19 “The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the light of full day. But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know what makes the stumble.”

We are all responsible for the path we take in life. God is good and patient with all of us. If only everyone would choose God and take Him at His word. But unfortunately not everyone has. You can see it in this world we live in. Some of us see it in our own homes and family members. “...pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words... for they are life to those who find them and health to a man’s whole body.” (Prov. 4:20-22).

Grace and Peace to you
Kim

God's not dead... He is surely alive!

I pray: Come heal our land oh God... And God says:   “If my people... will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven... and will heal their  land.”  (2 Chronicles 7:14).

We can’t deny there is a lot wrong with our nation. Our government seems like it’s falling apart with every president. But you can bet, there is ONE that’s right, and He will never fall apart, He’s surely alive, and living on the inside roaring like a lion!!!!  “Blessed are the people of whom this is true; Blessed are the people whose God is Lord.” (Psalm 144: 15).

We are suppose to be “One nation under God!” And as our money says; “In God we trust,” do we?

Don’t worry yourself about the government. The bible tells us in Isaiah 9: 6-7: “the government will be on His shoulders...”  So it starts with us, standing up, and speaking up for what we know is right, and that’s God’s ways!  Don’t put your trust in man, trust God.

Jeremiah 17: 5 - “cursed is the one who trust in man... and whose heart turns away from the Lord.”   Psalm 146 :3 “Do not put your trust in... mortal men, who cannot save.” God, Not the government, is the only hope for us all! We are His instruments to help here on earth.

Like the song says; “Let heaven roar, and fire fall, come shake the ground with the sound of REVIVAL!” That’s us, His people!

Not anyone, not even any president, can pull anything over on God. Either we stand for God and His ways, or we don’t. There is no half way.  “[If] you are lukewarm... I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” (Revelations 3:15-16).

Psalm 1:1-2 “Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked... But His delight is in the law of the Lord, and on His law He meditates day and night.”

I pray for leaders and us, who follow the way of God.

Grace and peace to you

Bless me indeed - Mercy Me

This song is what I prayed when I interviewed for Disney World.  “Oh that You would bless me and enlarge my territory!” (1 Chronicles 4:10).  What larger territory could He have given me than that? People come from all over the world. He really opened wide my horizons to share His name.

If you live in Florida, I’m sure you experienced Storm Debby. It brought so much darkness and gloom, plus a lot of needed rain. I have to say, it really affected my mood. I couldn’t believe it myself, that I would allow the weather to get to me in that way, and I really started to feel guilty about complaining. Especially when I watched the news and heard of all the horrible damage it has done, including a death of a mother laying on top of her baby to protect her little one as the tornado went through. The baby did survive. That’s when I said, “enough Kim, look how blessed you are. The sun will shine again.”

I tried to stay in my up mood that I usually am, but it was hard. People I work with even said to me, “You’re not your smiley self.” I have to say I didn’t even like me.  I really wanted the sun to shine, and the “Son” in me. Well on the third day, it did. It started to poke through. Then on Wednesday it really shined, and so did I.

I couldn’t help but grin a smile when everyone at work was talking about how much better they feel when the sun is shining. Some asked me why I had that smile. I told them, “Well you know, the 'Son' is always shining, because He’s always with us. Sometimes we just aren’t doing a good job at showing it.” Then I said, “Did you all realize it took 3 whole days for us to see the Son again?"

Most of them who understood where I was coming from, laughed. Some others asked me what I meant by that, and I got to share with them.  I said, “Well the 'third day' has a lot more meaning than just the sun coming out after all this rain. Jesus, (the Son) rose from the dead on the third day.” (1 Corinthians 15: 4).  With Jesus in our hearts, the Son is shining all the time. Yes we will have our cloudy, gloomy days, but with Him we can face them.

He’s the Only One never having a beginning. He’s the Only un-created One. He’s the light that was before the sun. He’s the Only One who is forever the same. He is, He was, and He will always be Lord of all!!!!!  “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of men.” (John 1: 1-4).  And He’s ours! So let the “Son” shine inside you, and through you, even on the cloudy days.

“The Lord bless and keep you, and his face shine upon you, and be gracious, and give you peace.”

Go light your world.

“I am the light of the world, whoever follows me WILL NOT WALK IN DARKNESS, but will have the LIGHT OF LIFE.” (John 8:12).

To burn brightly, we must first experience the flame.

Believers of who Jesus Christ really is: we need to look different than the rest of the world, “that [we] may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” (1 Peter 2:9).

We should shine the light, the light that should be burning brightly in our souls, illuminating the dark by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Just love, don’t judge, leave those things to Jesus. He’s the flame that lights, and convicts the heart.

Look how a single lit candle can light up a whole dark room. The Spirit who brings the fire to our soul is Jesus Christ. He wants to make His home in all of us. Jesus tells us in John 3: 5-7, “You must be born again.” When Jesus died, and then ascended into heaven, only His physical presence left the earth, but He promised us the gift of the Holy Spirit - His presence living in us to shine brightly into the darkness. Some of us are brightly burning, some are dark and cold.

One of my favorite verses in John 3:16-18 is, “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned...”  I love that! He loved me right where I was at. So don’t point at what people are doing wrong, point to Jesus who makes us right.

That’s what we as believers should be sharing. Running with our candle to the hopeless, lost, confused and torn. Jesus Christ is the flame that lights our souls'  candle. We need to share with others, and confused believers, to keep their eyes on Jesus, because we are all an ongoing work in progress. Christians are just sinners who fall down, and usually get up changed.

This world is darkened by sin. It is destroying the good God intends for people. All we can do as believers is hold out our candle, and ask God to lead us. For us to burn brightly, and not dark and cold, we have to ask God to search our hearts and thoughts.  "Search me, God and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” (Psalm 139: 23-24).

Share who Jesus is to you and leave the rest up to Him.

Go and light this world

The First time...

John 4:7-30... the text where Jesus talks to the Samaritan woman by the well.

After all of her searching for love and acceptance through relationships with all her husbands, she really felt nothing, nothing of worth.  Until she went to the well for a jar of water and had an encounter with, “Living Water.” You will NEVER feel anything as close as His love.

Have you ever been in this kind of relationship or relationships, looking for approval, acceptance, love?  If you haven’t tasted Jesus, you will still be searching.  So with your eyes and heart opened wide, “Feel alive for the first time.”

The bible tells us in Luke 10:27 to, “love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and love your neighbor as yourself.” Relationships are obviously important to God, and all about love. But as you can see it begins with Him first, 'Love the Lord your God.'  Or look to Matthew 6:33, and, “seek first His kingdom...”  We will really  never taste love lasting and unconditional, or even really love ourselves, until we put God first. New mercy will break the dawn, and you will feel Love, Real Love, for the “First Time.”

In that snippet from, John 4:13-14, Jesus says “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst.” No exceptions, Jesus said EVERYONE will be thirsty again, always searching for what satisfies. Are you one who is always searching for what will satisfy you? No amount of money, or success, or what you think is love, can satisfy what Jesus has to offer you.

This woman went to the well for a jar of water, but instead she got much more, she tasted, “Living Water.”  His Love is healing, and His Majesty is so overwhelming, that she even left the jar of water she went for, and "went back to town [to talk] to the people," about the man, the Messiah called Christ.   She couldn’t wait to go back to town to tell everyone about this Man. (John 4:28).

After all of her searching, TRUE LOVE and forgiveness entered her heart for “The First Time.” Jesus treasures the broken, and gives hope that we can NEVER earn. He offers it freely. This story shows that Jesus offers divine mercy in the “Living Water” of grace, which washes away sins and cleanses, and fills our souls.  In Verse 15 the women accepts Jesus’ offer and says, “Sir, give me this Water so I won’t get thirsty.” She asked, He gave.

Grace and peace to you

You are, I Am.

Jesus... He is I AM !!!! I won’t question who He is.  He's shown me and tells me in His word, that’s enough for me.  "[T]hough [if] you do not believe Me, believe the works, so that you may know and understand that the Father is in Me, and I am in the Father."  (John 10:38).

John 14: 9-10 -

“Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, show us the Father...
Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me?
The words I say to you I do not speak on my own initiative,
but the Father abiding in Me does His work.”

John 1:18 - “No one has ever seen God, but the ONE AND ONLY SON...”

John 14: 20 - “In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.”

That's just one of the things in God's word my daughter pointed out, that we just take on faith. It's not an easy thing to do, but it's even harder to make sense of.  I just believe.  It's a way of thinking with your heart, not your mind. (Selah).  Here are some of the more well known things to take on faith...

Genesis 2:7 - “God formed man from the dust... and breathed life into his nostrils.”

Genesis 2: 22 - “Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib He had taken out of man...”

Matthew 1: 23 - “The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a Son, and they will call Him Immanuel, which means God with us.”

In John 8: 58, Jesus says, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I AM!” This means Jesus existed before human life on Earth. Can you explain that?  I can’t, and I won’t keep searching for answers that aren’t here to find.

God said these things and we need to believe by faith, like a child.  He tells us to, "Trust in Him with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding."  (Prov. 3:5).  And then he says, "[You'll] find Me when you seek Me with all your Heart.”  (Jer. 29:13).  I pray we all rest our little minds, and place every part of our inner self on: He is, He was, and always will be, “I AM.”

Things go on in front of us every day that we don't see happening.  Because we see the after-effects, we just believe they happen.  You plant under the dirt that grows into a beautiful tree, or watch as a baby is formed inside a mother's womb.  How about the sun shining somewhere else in the world throughout our night time?  Jesus says in John 20: 29, “blessed are those who have NOT SEEN and yet believed.” It's a great thing to just believe by faith. You have a peace that surpasses all understanding and it, “will guard our hearts and minds.” (Phil 4:7).  Again you read, “hearts and minds.” Do you think God is trying to tell us something about making sense of all that He's done? You can’t do it, and won’t. He is God, and we’re not!

I know children ask a lot of questions, but when you give them an answer, they trust what you told them. They don’t search into it, they just believe because their faith in us as parents. That is what our Father in heaven wants us to do with who He says His Son is, and why He came to us. He came to show us the Father's unconditional love, and to die for our sins so we can have everlasting life with Him. His word is eternal, and He stands firm on it, as we should. His faithfulness continues through all the earth, I’ve seen it, and I hang on to His EVERY word.

2 Corinthians 5:7 - “We live by faith, not by sight.”

2 Corinthians 4: 18 - “For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

Hebrews 11: 1 - “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”

Don’t drive yourself crazy, just believe the Creator of the universe. Believe John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only begotten Son, that WHOEVER believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Also believe Verse 18, which says, “whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”

I pray you search His word and find the peace He wants you to have through His Son.

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."  (John 14:6).

***This is a response I got from my sister regarding my last post. It's almost a devotional all on it's own.***

I want to say Happy Birthday to my sweet sister Kim and let everyone know how much i love her.... She is a devoted Christen women as you all know and she has helped many of us through "OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST" learn the truth... God has given her a gift and i know it has and still is giving her peace in her own life as well... There was a time in my life where i felt so lonely and empty inside, i was going through a very hard time...I felt like my whole world turned upside down...YES, i believe in Jesus and i love him with all my heart, mind and soul, BUT, that doesn't mean life is going to be easy... The first person i called was my sister Kim, at 2:00 am in the morning, crying like a baby... Needless to say she took my call, and talked to me until i calmed down, she explained to me, i was just going through a season and she spent some time with me on the phone explaining to me how God takes things that happen to us that are beyond our control and makes good out of it... She told me you just have to be patient and trust the Lord, in his time, not ours....of course i was very anxious, but i learned to accept what happened and at that time i had spent more of my time reading Gods word, but there were times i didn't know where to go in the Bible for answers.... Kim gave me devotional after devotional with scriptures to read, not only that but she lent me stacks of Christen music to listen to at night with my head set on....I prayed and continued to cry allot at night but i honestly felt God's presence when i poured my heart out to him, i knew he was listening, i  knew i had to just be still, be patient and wait on him...That is when i felt stronger and more confident about things to come... I excepted where i was, with my life, and i thanked him every night before i'd close my eyes, but God knew my heart, needless to say, he answered my prayers, which is a testimony in it's self...  He truly is an awesome God, he's there for us if we want him bad enough and he never gives up on us, i know i will alway's be grateful that he stayed with me in that lonely dark place and gave me peace, love, understanding, compassion, etc... He gave me my heart's desire, which must have been his desire for me as well.. I thank my sister for the time she has given me and i thank her for the time she gives everyone else out there.... I pray her devotionals draws everyone closer to OUR HEAVENLY FATHER, AMEN!!!       HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIS, I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, AND LOVE WHAT YOU DO FOR OUR JESUS ;) winking   YOUR SISTER, DENISE

Something Happens, when I mention His name.

You got to sit, and really listen to this song!  Call His name… JESUS,JESUS,JESUS!

You will never hear, 'I’m too busy,' or, 'I’ll call you later.'  You'll never get a busy signal. You will never hear, 'I don’t know how to help you.'

There is Power in His name. Did you know that? Have you ever felt it? I pray you do. Listen to this song and open your heart!

When my heart is lifted in a praise song, I can’t help but to raise my hands in worship. The song just goes deep into your soul, and you can’t really help what happens from there. It’s like when you’re watching your favorite football team, and they make a touchdown, you stand up, jump up and down, raise your hands in celebration. Well, Jesus is a celebration EVERYDAY!

In church this past Sunday, we sang a song called “Something Happens.” This song moved the whole church. People all around me started to stand up and raise their hands higher and higher with every verse of “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus” Does anything happen to you when you call on His name?

The bible tells us in Lamentations 3: 41 to, “lift up our hearts and hands to God in heaven...”  When you get to know Jesus in a personal way, and how much He brings you through, even if the circumstance doesn’t change, He changes you. That’s why I really can’t help but to want to express my love and thanks that flows from my heart, right to my hands being lifted in worship. Psalm 63:4, “I will praise You as long as I live; and in Your name I will lift my hands.”

When I lift my hands, it’s my way of saying, 'Jesus I am yours. I thank You so much for this gift of life now and forever with You. My heart, soul, spirit, and body is Yours. I come to You open handed, and I want so much more of You.' It is so much more than just a song I’m hearing, there is a prayer that flows from my heart. Psalm 141: 1-2, “Oh Lord I call upon You; hasten to me! Give ear to my voice when I call to You! Let my prayer be counted as incense before You, and the lifting up of my hands as evening sacrifice.”

I love Christian music, because to me when I’m listening to the words and singing, I’m actually praying to Him, believing, thanking, loving, and surrendering myself open handed.

I hope when you hear this song, and say His name, “SOMETHING HAPPENS,” more than just singing words.

Grace and peace to you
Kim

Just another mountain

“This life is so temporary, so I will treasure my time.”

As you get older, this becomes more real to you with everyday God gives you. Trials, struggles, heartaches that will weigh us down. They truly are, “just another mountain.”

God’s ability to restore someone back to health or life is beyond our understanding. It is true,we will endure trials (mountains), but it is just as true that God will deliver us out of them.  "[He] has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy." (Psalm 126: 3).

It is not the first time, and I know it won’t be my last, that I’ve desperately prayed for a loved one that I thought we might lose. Jesus heard, and showed what only He can do, if it is not time for your loved one to go home yet.
My desperate prayer for my dad was The Kingdom of God, (Matthew 6:33). I remember asking God to please make sure I will see my dad again.I wanted this more than his physical healing, because what is healing without salvation? So even if the physical healing didn’t come, I was asking for a sign that my dad made Jesus his choice in his dark hours of that hospital day.

My dad right now is in a rehabilitation center for a little while, until he can walk better and gets doctors clearance. God answered our prayer. My dad, who really never talks about Jesus, started to talk about Jesus all on his own. Also making a lot of confessions. God never gives up on us. It’s never too late. God is so faithful, and showed us, “your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost.” Matthew 18:14.

I have heard what the doctors and nurses have said to me before about a loved one, but God always showed me He was in control. I listen, but I do not put my trust in them, because “the Lord is my Shepherd...” (Psalm 23:1). We must continue to stay focused and confident on what the Lord has done, and what He will continue to do if we trust and rest in Him alone. God is, and always has been, in control of whatever we are facing, and He is Never defeated. If you keep your focus on what God did for you today, “don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (Matthew 6:34).  Worrying is more harmful than helpful. God will not ignore anyone who depends on Him. Worrying about tomorrow effects your efforts today. Worry shows a lack of faith in God. Live one day at a time, and recount all that God has done, and that will keep you from being consumed by worry. Remember God just brought you through a BIG mountain today, so leave tomorrow with Him too.

We are to think ahead and plan, but go to God for guidance. Well planning can alleviate worry, but if we are consumed by fear, and all the “what if's”, than we are not trusting God. Let His grace keep filling you with hope. Remember His promise, “Never will I leave you; Never will I forsake you.” (Hebrews 13: 5).

Love is a gift that God keeps giving, He is in control. Whatever you are going through, is nothing God hasn’t seen before.

“It’s just another mountain.”

Grace and peace to you
