What you won't do for love.....Bobby Caldwell

Some of you may not know, but my husband has passed. He fought a good fight. Cancer thinks it won, but death has no sting when you have Jesus Christ as you Lord and Savior, and he did. He is truly VICTORIOUS! I will miss him horribly, until we meet again.

God really has a sense of humor. I was at the gas station pumping  gas, and a song was playing that I just loved back in the day of dating my husband. I couldn’t stop singing it, and no it wasn’t a Christian song. The title is, “what you won’t do for love,” by Bobby Caldwell. I couldn’t believe how God was speaking to me through this song and it’s lyrics.

Back in my dating years, I dated just a few guys, but when I met my husband I fell in love with him. I knew it was different from the others. It’s something you just know. Well after 3 years of dating him he broke it off. I was devastated!! He was my first love, and what I mean by that is I gave myself to him, and him only,  intimately. There wasn’t anything that I wouldn’t do to show him how much I loved him. That is why these lyrics just get me: “What you won’t do, do for love. You’ve tried everything and you won’t give up”… Well long story short…. After a long break up he came back to let me know, “gotta thing for you, and I can’t let go.” Then not much later, he asked me to marry him.

So now let me tell you how I see this song spiritually: You will have to listen to it too, and maybe you will see. The lyrics are great!!

Me speaking to God: “I guess You’ve wondered where I’ve been? I searched to find the love within. I came back to let you know. I gotta thing for You and I can’t let go. My friends wonder what is wrong with me. Well, I’m in a daze from Your love you see. I came back to let You know. I gotta thing for You and I won’t let go.” I am now in the GREASTEST love relationship of my life. My true first love.

God has done everything to show me His love. He NEVER gives up showing any of us how much He loves us. He gave His Son to die for us, John 3:16, while we were yet sinners He died, Romans 5:8. He is not willing to lose any of us, John 6: 39. He will try everything and never give up.

Listen to the song and maybe you will see it the way I do to God. If you don’t you will still love the song.

The Word is Alive ..... Casting Crowns

Wow Great song!!! I pray that when you hear this song, and you read this message, that you will look up the scripture I give to you. It’s the Word, the Living Word, and the Word always was, and always will be, because the Word is Jesus, and He is ALIVE!!!!! Hebrews 4: 12, “For the Word of God is LIVING and POWERFUL, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit”….

John 1: 1, “In the beginning was the “Word” and the Word was with God”….. Right in the beginning of his gospel, John tells us that Jesus was far more than just a great teacher or a mighty prophet. He was the “express image” of God’s person. In some translations it says Jesus is, “the radiance of God’s glory and the EXACT representation of His being”……. I love that!!!! Why do some people try to complicate God’s word. He is God in Three Persons. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. If God wanted to be God in 6 persons he could. He’s God! He calls the shots and gives everything, and everyone its name.

Repeatedly the book of Hebrews tells us that Jesus is God, the “express image” in the flesh. Jesus is worshiped as God, praised as the Creator, recognized as Ruler, and glorified as God’s ONLY BEGOTTEN SON. Read it for yourself in Hebrews 1: 1-13.
God’s Final Word: His Son
1 In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.
The Son Superior to Angels
For to which of the angels did God ever say,
“You are my Son;
    today I have become your Father”
Or again,
“I will be his Father,
    and he will be my Son”
And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says,
“Let all God’s angels worship him.”
In speaking of the angels he says,
“He makes his angels spirits,
    and his servants flames of fire.”
But about the Son he says,
Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever;
    a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.
You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;
    therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions
    by anointing you with the oil of joy.”
10 He also says,
“In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth,
    and the heavens are the work of your hands.
11 They will perish, but you remain;
    they will all wear out like a garment.
12 You will roll them up like a robe;
    like a garment they will be changed.
But you remain the same,
    and your years will never end.”
13 To which of the angels did God ever say,
“Sit at my right hand
    until I make your enemies
    a footstool for your feet”
Read verse  8 and 9 again, not with your mind, but with your open heart and faith. God the Father set His only begotten Son above all others. Jesus is named God by His father, it’s that simple. Don’t complicate it. He is the only One equal to His Father. Philippians 2: 9, “Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and GAVE HIM THE NAME that is above every name.”

Hanging by a moment...... Lifehouse

Subject: Hanging by a moment...... Lifehouse

I was listening to this song on my IPod while I was getting ready for church, and I thought about the lyrics as I replayed it. Many Christian artist write of personal experiences, and I wondered if that was of this song. I know these lyrics can hit home with most of us…… “Desperate for changing, starving for truth. I’m closer from where I started, chasing after You. I’ve fallen even more in love with You, letting go of all I hold on to. I’m standing here until You make me move. I’m hanging by a moment here with You.”

As I listened to the song, I thought how thankful I am for Jesus, and that the most important decision I ever made in my life was accepting His invitation to have a personal relationship with Him. Romans 10: 9, Have you taken the invitation? The bible tells us, if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus Christ, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

There is a lot of things we dive into in life without even giving it a thought. Take a moment and think about this. Are you one who says, “Oh I’m just going to do it, what do I have to lose?” Well you have nothing to lose, but everything to gain when you dive into a relationship with Jesus Christ. If you take His invitation, He’ll take all of you. He will complete everything you think you are lacking.

I know I don’t have this whole thing figured out, and I don’t have it all together, but I know that I am completely satisfied. There is nothing in this world that can ever change my mind or satisfy my heart and soul like Jesus.

Well after that song was over, the very next song that came on was one of Michael Jackson’s song that I wrote about in the past blogs. The lyrics go like this…. “Can it be I stayed away too long”……. It is called.. “I wanna be where you are.”

Well how about you? Have you stayed away to long? Are you feeling discontented?  Can you let go of all you hold on to? I promise you, you will have nothing else to find. Like Jesus said in His word…. John 4: 14, “but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst.” Because He satisfies.
