Do you ever feel like life is just sucking the life right out of you.
That’s when a nice nap, or a good night of sleep, seems like the only escape from a bad day. I mean unless you have a nightmare of your troubles.
There really is no escape. You just wake up to reality again, so you might as well learn how to face each day. The scenery from this video is beautiful, but vacations are only temporary, and then back to reality again. The only One lasting place to run to is Jesus. Climb up in His lap, with His wonderful book, and hide in what he says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” John 14:6
Things begin to become more clear about what we go through. You know, like the people who love to hurt you, because they are hurting themselves. The lonely marriage you might be in. Why it seems like everything you do just isn’t right, or good enough. Why that someone, or yourself is suffering with an illness. Why that little innocent one had to die. So many questions in this life, that we may never have understanding, or answers to our whys.
Jesus is the only peace, the only place I run to, to try and see things through His eyes. Even still, I may not understand, or get the answers, but He is PEACE.
There is nothing that will come to us, that doesn’t go through His hands first. The bible tells us in Malachi 3:3 “He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.”
I have read that a good refiner will sit down by the fire, so the fire will not become even one degree too hot and possibly harm the metal. But he keeps it there until he can see his reflection in the pure metal. Everything else has to be melted away, until the pure metal takes a new, and perfect shape.
WOW!!! Sounds like God with us, doesn’t it? We can’t just disappear from the heat of life. So we have to trust the “Great Refiner” that sits by our side, while we go through the heat of life, and are being made, and formed into the image of His Son.
From the beginning of time God spoke it in Genesis 1:26, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness”….
We are all far from it. But the fire isn’t as hot, the closer you get into relationship with Jesus.
May the heat of our lives, bring Him glory.
Grace and peace to you
Kim
