I love this song. It says so much in the opening. “In Christ alone will I glory, though I could pride myself in battles
won, by His strength alone I’ll overcome.”
Ephesians 4:1,
To read about Paul in prison, and how he handled it, spoke very clearly
to my heart in my walk with God. In short, it’s to look over my
troubles (prison), and to keep my eyes and heart on Jesus. There is
always a song in my heart, and this is one of them. It reminds me of
God’s greatest desire, is for none to perish… 2 Peter 3:9. As His chosen, we have to keep this in our minds, and heart, when it seems so hard to keep going. 2 Corinthians 12:9, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
I’m
sure you felt at times like the walls are just closing in on you. Look
above them, God is with you for His purpose. Try to see it as an honor
to be used by Him, instead of feeling it’s unfair. Remember, none of us
deserve to be forgiven.
A very short story in the old testament, about Jonah. Only 4 chapters.
It truly shows how God cares for ALL people. He gave Jonah a purpose,
but he hated those people that God wanted him to speak to. He responded
with anger, and disobedience, and even innocent people were suffering
because of it. To put it short, our view of people is unlike God’s. God
loves us all, He hates the sin. How will anyone know how much God loves
them, unless we are willing to show them, and tell them.
So
if you feel like you’re in a prison, He is with you, for His purpose.
Not for what we think is fair or unfair. When you think of things in
life that are unfair, look at Jesus life, and death, and it was all for
us. It’s all about eternal purposes. Things here are temporary.
When
people ask me, “how do you do it?” I tell them, “My source of strength is
Jesus. The battles of things that come my way is His.”
My situation in life has not changed. God is changing me on the inside, and it’s worth it to know Him more.

Grace and peace
