We had a appreciation banquet at my job the other
day for the third shift employees. When Disney does something, they go
all out. It was so beautifully decorated, and the food, (oh my god, words
can’t describe) and plenty of it. At the entrance of the door, they
even rolled out a red carpet. The host of Yacht and Beach banquets went
all out! I stood at the door and welcomed the guest, and said, “this is
all for you.”
Well after saying that, this song above popped into my head, and I couldn’t stop singing it.
Then I thought of the story of the great banquet in the bible, and many guest were invited - Luke 14: 12-24… The host planned a large feast, with room for a great number of guest. Verse 18…
Many of them made excuses why they couldn’t come. The host was angry at
this, but didn’t give up on the invitation. He wanted His house full….Verse 23.
God desires “all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth,” 1 Timothy 2:4.
My
job really went all out for this event, and all who attended couldn't thank us enough. It was all in appreciation to them and their service.
Well
God will be the Host in the end of this time on earth. Anyone who
accepted His invitation, will be His guest at the biggest banquet we
will ever see, and it will never end, (and we won’t gain weight). J
We should sense God’s hurt and urgency from this story in Luke, and also in John 1:10-13. I hope it moves you to share His heart and invitation to the lost.
You don’t have to worry about offending someone if God is telling you to go. He will take care of it.
“ Not to us but to His name be the Glory!”
Grace and peace to you
Kim
