Still calls me son... Luke 15:11-32

I was so blessed to have the parents I had, and who loved me unconditionally.  When I got into my late teens, I needed to choose; My way of living, r staying at home - with all the comforts of home, but always being disciplined, and grounded for choices I made.  I’m sure a lot of you could relate.  The greatest thing about loving parents is they welcome you back open arms, when you come to your senses.

Luke 15:11-32, Great story in the bible of a son who realizes his foolishness of leaving his father, and decides to return and ask forgiveness and mercy.  How AMAZING His grace is.  The father who was waiting and watching, receives him back with open arms. My favorite verse, is verse 20, “While he was still a long way off, his father saw him, and was filled with compassion, he ran to his son and kissed him."  I love that!!! God will run to meet you, even if we are so far off, and so slow to change, and to repent. The eyes of mercy are quicker than the eyes of repentance.

When we call on God, He takes great joy in that close bond with His wondering ones, no matter where you’ve been.  Luke 15:6, “Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost.”

With a kiss to His cheek, Jesus was betrayed.  Sometimes we are that kiss of betrayal with how we live our lives.  Yet when we call upon His name, with repentance in our hearts, with open arms, and a kiss on our cheeks, He runs to us, and welcomes us back home.  Luke 15:10, “There is joy in the presence of the angles of God over one sinner who repents.”

Can you hear them singing “Amazing Grace” ?

Grace and peace
Kim
