"Come to the WELL" John: 4

This song has the words on the screen at this live Casting Crowns concert.

We need water to drink when we are thirsty, and sometimes it is hard to quench. We all are also Spiritually thirsty, but a lot of us don’t realize that’s what it is, so we keep searching, trying to quench it.
Only Jesus supplies this well of living water, as He says in John 4:13-14. This story in the bible is all of us, one way or another. The pursuit of perfection, fear of rejection, temporary pleasures, earthly treasures, relationships, and so on.
Like the song says: “You can spend your whole life chasing what’s missing, but that empty inside, just isn’t going to listen. When nothing can satisfy, and the whole world leaves you dry”….. Jesus says… “the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”  Here on earth, and for eternity.
This is the deep level of thirst all of our souls are desperately crying out for. Some of us may have a wonderful relationship with Jesus, but you’re not waiting on Him for the things He has for you. The things you need, the relationship you’ve been looking for. Pray for a man who is in love with God, and you WILL be loved as you should. He will supply these for you, in His time, when you leave it all behind, and begin to TRUST HIM.  You’re choosing, and doing it all yourself. Let Him lead the way.
Some of us think we have all the bases covered, like the man Jesus speaks of in a parable in Luke 12 :16-19. In verse 20 “God said to him, FOOL!” We can fool ourselves in a number of ways like the Samaritan women, and all her empty relationships. Some think a nice car, a bigger house, a glorious vacation, and so on. So we go through life dreaming, and hoping.  We have to realize that all we are doing is going back to our own dry well.
Jesus has what we need. So stop searching, stop working to satisfy yourself. He’s done it all, and has it all. “You” will not find the remedy.
So leave it all behind, because this world will try, but it can NEVER fill.

Grace and peace to you
