Sometimes he calms the storm.

Beautiful song below. Hope it helps you understand some of your questions of, why, or how long?

I was listening to a radio interview with Mark Shultz on Z88.3. He was talking about the song he wrote called “He is” and how it came about. He had met a 12 year old girl dying of cancer. When he got a call from her dad that she only had a few days to live, he went to meet with her again. He was so inspired by the girl telling him, “I know my life, and death have a purpose.” From what he was saying about her, you could tell she had peace, and she was ready.

The lyrics to this song are so true, and very powerful. God has a reason for every trial we pass through in life. I don’t like any of them! I only like what it’s been doing in me. He truly does hold us close when the wind and waves go wild. Sometimes He calms the storm, but other times He calms His child.

In so many things I have gone through, or watched others go through, I’ve wondered, Why? I have, and sometimes still do, kick and scream in trials that come my way. But Jesus always finds a way in time through His word, to calm me, (His child).

God is not a God of mistakes. I’m sure a question we all ask from time to time is, “How long God, how long will this pain, and evil go on?” One day we will all have our questions answered. Are you ready? Are your loved ones? "[He] shall loose none," (John 6:39).

This 12 year old girl was ready to go home. Probably tired of her sickness, and pain, and knowing of the place Jesus has prepared for her, and those who believe.  John 14: 2-3, “I will come back, and take you to be with me...”  She knew no sickness would pull her apart from Christ, and what was waiting for her. Her heart of trust, was her quiet peaceful place while she waited, and glorified God even in her sickness.

“Let the little children come to me... for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” (Mark 10: 13-16).   Young children who are sick, or abused, or babies who are aborted, are now being held forever and ever. No more tears, no more sickness, no more abuse or pain. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain...” (Revelations 21: 4).  They are in a safe place forever more.

There is a place for you too. Have you confessed Jesus as Lord? Asked Him to come make His home in your heart, knowing that He died for all your sins? Asking Him for forgiveness, and to take the wheel of your life?  Read John 3:16.

Grace and peace to you
Kim
