Have you been standing on your own feet too long?
If you have been walking on a surface that is uncertain, and helping yourself to everything that’s empty, you won’t be able to live this way too long. Or better said, you will never really have true happiness. There is still an empty spot waiting to be filled.
You can find rest, when you let the old life fade and the new life offered be your saving grace.
I love the story in the bible about the women at the well. Jesus knew all about this women. She was married 5 times, and now living with another man. We are all born with a desire to be accepted and loved. So why do some of us keep Jesus away from our deepest need. How long will we keep searching, keep having our hearts broken going from one relationship to another? Sooner or later you will see clearly the “One” relationship you need most is with Jesus first. Nothing else will satisfy you completely until you do.
Jesus is the living water. He provides, but you must decide. He will not force you to drink. Anything else besides Him can be deceitful. We will just continue to thirst. John 4 :13 Jesus said.. “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst.” Jesus is all satisfying to the emptiness that we continually try to fill with everything else. We will only continue to come up empty if we don’t realize that our souls are thirsty for spiritual food and water.
Yes, our hearts and our flesh will fail us because some of us are afraid to be alone. But if we allow God to fill us, He will be the strength in our weakness, and all our fears. Psalm 73 :26 “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” We are never alone. Jesus promises to be everything we need, but we need to stop clinging to our wants and cling to Him. Matthew 10: 39 “If you cling to your life, you will lose it, but if you give up your life for Me, you will find it.” This verse explains that clinging to what, and who we want, will only forfeit the BEST from God.
If you’re still looking for a place where you belong, let your old life crumble “Let it Fade.” Let this new life offered be your saving grace. So dive in and drink (Selah)
1 John 1: 9 tells us “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and WILL FORGIVE US our sins and purify us from ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS.” Not just some of our sins, but all of them. Remember, “For it is by grace you have been saved…it is a GIFT of God”
NONE of us could ever be good enough. That is why we have a SAVIOR!!I pray you rest in this truth.
