Im me... Rebecca St James

I read a true story about a turtle the other day and it inspired me to write this.
This turtle was being barked at and bitten over and over again by this dog. How could he be so calm? He knew he couldn't outrun the trouble. Instead he was given an armor to withstand it. The turtle had his protective shell. He knew all he had to do was tuck himself inside and no harm can come to him.
Psalm 119:14, " You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in Your word." The same is for us. When we put our full trust and confidence in God's word and His power in our lives, we no longer have to fear or run from trouble. We can put our armor on, Ephesians 6: 13-18.
The other night there was a horrible rainstorm, and my backyard has always flooded horribly. Pretty much knee deep. The storm was so bad that Internet went out. It always seems to be in the late evening hours. It was around 10. I stared outside and looked at my yard filling up. All I could say was, "God there is nothing I can do staring at this, but everything that you can. Please make this water go into the ground quickly by morning."
Then as I was getting ready to get in bed, I got an alert on my phone that there was a tornado watch in in my area. I sensed Jesus say, "Rest your head on that pillow. I have you covered." I slept so well that I didn't even hear the next storm that came through around midnight that my neighbor told me was just as bad. I got up the next morning and looked outside. The water was only puddled around my 2 Palm trees in the back. I know that only God could have done that. I usually have to put a water pump out there.
I truly believe in the power of prayer.
Sometimes the greatest expression of faith, is when we draw into the shell of the word and just trust.
This power is in me and you if you believe.
For Your glory Lord
