I
love how my 2 year old grandson plays hide ans seek. I am sitting right
in front of him, and he'll close his eyes real tight and say, "Nanny
where are you?" I wish you could hear him; he sounds like a baby Elmer
Fudd. Kids like to play hide and seek, even when they get older. The game
changes alot though. One person counts to 100, while the others find a
hiding place. Then the person who was counting, sets out to find you.
I'm sure many of you played this when you were younger. Sad thing is,
some of us still do it today, thinking we could hide sin from God.
Genesis 3: 9, when
Adam and Eve realized they had sinned, after disobeying God and ate
from the fruit tree, they tried to hide when they heard God coming, and
God called out to them, "where are you?" It's crazy to think they
thought they could actually hide from the all seeing, all knowing God! Psalm 138: 7-16, Yet we do the same thing, thinking God doesn't know what we're doing.
God's
desire was to be with Adam and Eve, just like He desires to be with us. Because of their sin, they were affraid to show themselves. Sin breaks
the close relationship God wants to have with us.
Jesus
opened that way for us. He loves us unconditionally, and wants us to
come to Him just the way we are, and He will clean us up, Acts 3: 19, "Repent then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out." Acts 4: 12, "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we MUST be saved." John 14: 6
God doesn't play hide and seek. He wants to be found... Deuteronomy 4 :29, "You will find Him, if you look for Him with all your heart, and all your soul."
Grace and peace to you. have a blessed weekend.
Kim
