Psalm 23:4, "Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death..."
The valley is just a shadow of darkness. What is that dark area of your life?
God is trying to bring you to green pastures. He is always with us in the process even though it’s painful.
God
is never shaken. He is shaking our world to change us, and cause us to
grow spiritually. No matter how long, or how difficult the process may
be, God will continue to break us, and bring us to a place of surrender
of self. It can be painful, because change is hard.
We
can’t mature in faith, or spiritually, through easy times. It takes the
hard, dark times, and asking God to reveal what He is doing in our
life.
1 Peter 4:12-13,
“ Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is
to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you, but rejoice to
the extent that you partake of Christ’s suffering, that when His glory
is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.”
Charles Surgeon wrote: “God knows that soldiers are only to be made in battle, they are not grown in peaceful times.”
Imagine going into battle without a weapon. Well if you go before God, and without God in life, you go alone.
So
ask yourself: What am I trying to do on my own… what is God trying to
strip from me… what have I put between me and God….what have I put
between me and total surrender?
What is that shadow?
Grace and peace to you
