A friend of mine just got back from her trip in the
mountains. She couldn’t believe how beautiful it was; even in the
valley. She said the climb in the car to the top of the mountain was so
long, steep, and scary, because the road was so narrow.
It
reminded me a lot of our walk with God and the way we look at our
valleys, (trials). We only have a narrow view, but God has the whole wide
view of our road in life, from beginning to end. So we must go through
the valleys of life to stand upon the mountain of God. The journey could
be long and hard, but Jesus is with you.
I
don’t know what your valley is; It could be a marriage, an addiction, a
divorce, a sickness, a child with a handicap. No one enjoys
these trials, but they come into our life for a purpose. The loving
hands of our Father is trying to reshape, and refocus our life to better
reflect the life of Christ, full of purpose and blessings, (mountaintop views).
God wants our hearts, not religion. Joel 2:13 says, What
God allows to happen in our lives, and the lives of others we love,
might not make sense to us in the beginning, but He sees what lies
ahead. We need to open our eyes, and see we can’t make it without Him.
He will discipline, guide, and direct us as any loving parent would… Hebrews 12:5.
Luke 9:23, Jesus
said, “Daily take up our cross and follow Him." He said, “follow Him." So He goes before you. As we embrace the daily trials of this life and
look at things through His eyes and His purpose, and with faith and
trust, something amazing begins to happen inside you. As you begin to reflect more of Jesus, you also sense a greater strength growing within you.
You
may have the same valley going on in your life, or even a new valley. Ask God to help you see the beauty in the valleys, and what He is doing. He will bring you to the mountain view, James 1:2-4
Grace and Peace to you
Kim
