Jesus came so we can have life, and live it more abundantly. –John 10:10. Satan wants to take you out!!!
Hebrews 12: 9 “Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. HOW MUCH MORE should we submit to the Father of Spirits and live! They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best, but God disciplines us for our good in order that we may share in His holiness.”
Jesus wants to set up His throne inside of us. Cleaning His home in us can be through painful experiences. “Thy Kingdom come” in me…. When I think of the words of the Lord’s prayer, also the lyrics of this song, I know that God’s discipline on how I live my life, is all out of His love for me. Consequences that come upon me of my own bad choices are to make me holy. To devour the evil inside, and consume it with His power.
Does it feel like the heat has been turned up in your life? I truly believe that God would love to experience our love for Him in action. Sometimes painful things in our life happen to bring us to another level of knowing, and trusting Him. If we say we love Him, He desires a surrendered life to Him. One that glorifies Who He is in us. What is something, or things that you’re holding onto and won’t give up? What is polluting His rightful place inside you? Lay down your Isaac and God will take care of the rest. Genesis 22:9-13 Hebrews 11: 17.
When I think back when I was a child, I hated getting punished for something I did wrong. But as I got older, I knew it was because my parents loved me, and wanted the best for me. Why is it though, that even if I knew something was wrong, I would do it anyway? Then when the consequences would come about I’d say, “If I only listened.” Some of us wait until it’s too late just to see what we could get away with. My parents gave me many chances, along with a lot of unconditional love. Then when I was old enough to understand all they taught me, I was given a choice, “our way under our roof, or find a place where you can live how you choose.” Well I didn’t pick the protected cover under my parents roof. I learned a lot of lessons the hard way, but it brought me back home praise God. Some people never learn. They just keep going down a harmful path.
This is when love has to love from a distance because you care more about them then they care for themselves. You can’t make anyone see the trouble you see ahead with the choices they’re continuing to make. There is a time in all our lives that when we say we love someone, it’s going to take an action to show it. For some it’s loving yourself and the gift of life. Just like when we can say we love God, read His word every day, and still be so far off from what loving Him really is. James 1:22 says, “Do not merely listen to the word…. Do what it says.” 1 Corinthians 6: 19-20, reminds us that our bodies are not our own. We are the living temple of the Holy Spirit…… What is your Isaac? Lay it down!...... For others, it’s surrendering the one’s you love to God’s care. Lay them down!
