I woke up this Friday morning thinking about Christmas morning. Crazy right? But you know Easter Sunday is coming and I start getting excited for the truth I know and love to celebrate this special day.  Just like everyone starts getting so excited the closer it gets to Christmas to see the look on their childrens face as they run out to the tree to see what gifts are under it. How excited are you for this coming Easter morning? Resurrection Sunday. Is it all about the Easter egg hunts and easter bunny? It shouldn't be, just like Christmas shouldn't be all about the gifts.
 The greatest gift to us all hung on a tree. Jesus Christ our Savior. He died to give us true life.  Everything else is a substitute. If you don't have Jesus you will always have that empty spot trying to fill it with everything else. You will find out for yourself that it just doesn't last. I know from experience from my own children, and also from my grandchildren. After a few days they tell you they are bored. How could that possibly be after all the new gifts that they have? Material things only last for a little while.  Jesus fullfills! 
We should be getting our children excited about this coming Sunday morning and running to church to celebrate this glorious day.
 We celebrate Christmas because You came Jesus. We celebrate Easter because You rose defeating death and the grave.  Thank you Jesus that You came into this world to save a sinner like me.
The enemy has no power unless we give it to him all because of Jesus. "Devil, you're done you better start running. Friday's good cause Sunday's coming.

How will Jesus answer you when you take your last breath. Are you one who thinks Jesus owes you? We are all criminals. The only thing that sets us free from sin is what Jesus did for us on the cross. He already did everything. That 1 thief on the cross walks straight into paradise. No matter what crime he did. No matter how horrible it was. All he had to do was acknowledge Jesus Christ as the Son of God. If that's not a miracle, if that's not mercy, if that's not grace,  if that's not love unexplainable, I don't know what is. God's salvation is for everyone. All we have to do is repent and believe. 
Luke 23:39 One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!”
40 But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? 41 We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”
42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.
43 Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
 At any time, in the blink of an eye, it could be our last day. He's King of my heart. How about you?

God does his greatest work in the dark. He does his greatest work in our confusion. Oh, we want the light to shine in that darkness, and we want answers quickly. But sometimes it doesn't happen that way. This is the time to keep praying, to keep seeking, and lean not on our own understanding. Don't lose faith. Keep your eyes on Him. 
Hold on to the promises that He spoke to you from His word and keep repeating them back to Him. Believe that something good is gonna happen. It may not be as quickly as you want it. It may not even be this side of heaven. But if you're a believer, you are in a win win situation. 
God uses everything for His glory. The pain and the suffering that we don't understand. But this is not home. I know I have to keep repeating that to myself over and over again. This is what helps me to keep pressing on. To see through the lies of the enemy and know that my God is good. To keep my faith unshakable.
 I've watched people suffer with this unshakable faith. I've seen some come out and be able to use their suffering as a testimony. But i've also seen people that went home to be with the Lord that even while they were in their battle of suffering, they brought glory to God. When challenges surround us, we rest in the hands of the ONE Who never looks away. His protection doesn't mean a life without struggles or suffering. 
May our struggles become the evidence of what God can do. As we wait on a miracle, wait on a turnaround, wait on a victory, know, that God us working all things out for our good, but most of all for His glory. Romans 11:36, Roman 8:28.
 Every transformed life becomes a testimony to the light of Christ, inviting the world to know our Savior.
Never give up believing, hoping, trusting..
 Ephesians 3:20 
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,

The Gardener

I believe one of the hardest things to tell God, is to ask him to cut away anything that doesn't reflect His character. God is the Gardener and Jesus is the Vine. Being a christian, whether we like it or not, He will have His way in our life. It hurts and it takes time. We are the ones who want everything microwavable. It seems like the things that we want to get out of takes Him longer than we would like. But it's for our good and His glory. There is no way around it. We are pruned to bare His fruit. Love, patience, goodness,kindness, self control, long suffering.... He is making us pure and holy. He does what he has to do to reflect Him.
How we remain in it is up to us. But I know by experience. Keeping our eyes, our thoughts, our hearts focused on Him, and remaining in Him as, John 15:4 states. The "why me"  the " why is this taking so long" will become less and less. With the little understanding that we have, you begin to understand. Just like a child when they're growing up and experiencing.
 growing pains. So do we as grown ups, growing spiritually. Yes it hurts. I have learned as His child, and He as my Father, I can talk to Him open and honestly. We might as well, because He knows every thought we have anyway, Romans 8:27.
If you're not going through anything right now, you will. Every one of us will have seasons in our life. Some of the seasons are longer than we would like. But hang in there. We never go through them alone. He's in it with us, He's fighting for us. I pray.We come out not even smelling like smoke, Daniel 3:26,27.
