Many songs I attach are prayers from my heart to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This is one of them.
Many times in our journey here, we will go through dark times. Times where you won't have a clue of what God is up to. But you can bet, it is part of His plan. You don't have to like it, but we have a choice to trust Him Who knows best. At least you know at the end, victory is yours, one way or another. Life or death, God's "steady heart," and hand hold you.
My faith, and my love for God, tells my heart to stay steady and trust Him. He's carried me through many trials in my life, and He hasn't changed, but He CONTINUALLY is changing me.
His love, His perfect love that I keep seeking, is being formed in me. It's a love that drives out all fear. 1 John 4:18, "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear.... The one who fears has not fully experienced His perfect love."
Fear truly has it's way of creeping it's ugly head into my life every now and then. It's certainly not from God. It's what I allow, and where I allow the enemy to bring my thought life.
Psalm 141:8, God tells me to keep my eyes fixed on Him. 2 Corinthians 10: 5, Tells me to take EVERY THOUGHT captive and make it obedient to Christ. Oh how I wish I could stay in that peaceful place. I know God wants it for me even on this side of heaven. I have to say, I'm not where I used to be Praise God!!
I pray the chorus of this song. It's a reminder of all God is to me, and then some.....
"Steady heart that keeps on going, steady love that keeps on moving, lead me on. Steady grace that keeps forgiving, steady faith that keeps believing, lead me on. You are faithful, You will lead me. You are faithful, You will keep me. And as the dawn breaks, and as the clouds clear, in an open space, together we will run."
