I believe one of the hardest things to tell God, is to ask him to cut away anything that doesn't reflect His character. God is the Gardener and Jesus is the Vine. Being a christian, whether we like it or not, He will have His way in our life. It hurts and it takes time. We are the ones who want everything microwavable. It seems like the things that we want to get out of takes Him longer than we would like. But it's for our good and His glory. There is no way around it. We are pruned to bare His fruit. Love, patience, goodness, kindness, self control, long suffering.... He is making us pure and holy. He does what he has to do to reflect Him.
How we remain in it is up to us. But I know by experience. Keeping our eyes, our thoughts, our hearts focused on Him, and remaining in Him as, John 15:4 states. The "why me" the " why is this taking so long" will become less and less. With the little understanding that we have, you begin to understand. Just like a child when they're growing up and experiencing.
growing pains. So do we as grown ups, growing spiritually. Yes it hurts. I have learned as His child, and He as my Father, I can talk to Him open and honestly. We might as well, because He knows every thought we have anyway, Romans 8:27.
If you're not going through anything right now, you will. Every one of us will have seasons in our life. Some of the seasons are longer than we would like. But hang in there. We never go through them alone. He's in it with us, He's fighting for us. I pray.We come out not even smelling like smoke, Daniel 3:26,27.
For your glory LORD
