At the age I am now, I have seen some of my loved ones face their hour of death. Praise Jesus they were all at peace and comfortable by care also given by Hospice. They put their faith and trust in our Lord Jesus Christ.
This morning in my quiet time I had a thought that ripped my heart to pieces. Number one I thank God for Hospice and their hearts of compassion for our loved ones. Also for the medication to keep them absolutely comfortable as they are getting ready to go from here into eternity.
As a believer in Jesus Christ, in our suffering, and when our time is near the end of our journey here, we not only have Jesus Christ in our heart and soul, but we also have this Hospice care that gives us medication to keep us as comfortable as possible.
When I thought of Jesus, and the suffering He went through, He had no comfort as He hung on that cross dying for the sins of the world. He didn't even have the comfort of His Father's presence. That just rips at my heart.
We live in a world that brings us painful situations at times. I am so thankful to be a believer, and to have His constant presence. Also to know that when my time comes, and I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, He is with me...... "I am not alone" Psalm 23: 4, "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death.....thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."
