..."His incomparably great power for us who believe"....
Do you need a "fresh outpouring"? I do! Everyday, a daily overdose!
Ephesians 1: 17-23.....
"I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead"....
If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, you have a purpose, and it's not just to walk through life knowing you are going to heaven when you die. It's to tell the world of the hope you found in Jesus. That is a command for us all!
Verse 18.. "I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you"... Yes, He's calling us to enter in to His Kingdom purposes on our earthly journey.
As you grow in your relationship with Jesus, you realize you are not absent of trials, but your not absent of His full presence either. 2 Corinthians 4:7-12, We will be.... "hard pressed on every side, BUT NOT CRUSHED... struck down, BUT NOT DESTROYED".... When you read scriptures like this, and Romans 8: 18-37... and 2 Corinthians 1: 3-10, your Spiritual eyes open to get an understanding of why Christians still to this day are suffering. Verse 3 of 2 Corinthians 1, "Praise be to God....Who comforts us in our troubles"... IN THEM, not from them. (Selah)
God always did, and still does allow troubles to come our way. 1 Peter 4: 12-14 even tells us, .... "do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you"....I don't think many of us realize how ready we need to be each day. We live in a world of constant spiritual warfare, Ephesians 6:12.
God can't work through us until He can work in us. We are here to submit to God's will so that He can work in us, then through us as He desires. Once we really understand our struggles, and that we have been saved so that Jesus can shine through all of them, that's when God uses us to encourage others in their struggles.
I pray that God finds less and less complaints in us and more of a Spiritual readiness to be "more than conquerors through Him"... Ask God for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit. See what happens.
