Death where is your sting. .. Cory Asbury

I absolutely love the ladies study we have been doing. Prophecy and our World, has led us deeper into God's Holy Word.

The most recent one is titled: "What happens when we die?"......

I thank the good Lord that I know that I am His by accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. How about you? You may call Him your Savior, but one day He will be the judge we all will stand before. There are no second chances when we die. We go to one of two destinations. Heaven or hell, and it is immediate.

2 Corinthians 5:8, Philippians 1:21-23, Acts 7: 54-60. There is no soul sleep, and no second chances.

This story Jesus tells us about the rich man and the beggar in Luke,  is packed with insight. Luke 16: 19-31

We will all face death one day. Unless Jesus returns first. But you can see by these scriptures that it's either hell or heaven. It gets very clear by verse 23. "In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side."... So you will be able to see from this chasm, and also recognize.

You can see that you will also feel. Verse 24, " Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am an agony in this fire."

Verse 26 ... "between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us."

I can't even imagine the horror in seeing heaven, recognizing those there, feeling the agony of fire, and not being able to cross over. Knowing I made my choice and it's done.

God is not silent about death. There will be a separation. Its clearly written for us here. One that is eternal, and you choose what, and where that will be by how you live this life, and what you believe. You may have all the riches of this world now. But your now is just a blink.

For the believer, death will have no sting. 1 Corinthians 15: 55-57.  The sting is sin. Jesus took that sting for us so we don't have to, and nailed it to the cross.

We owe him everything, and yet all he asks us to do is, believe, receive, and become a child of God, John 1:12.  But I can bet, if God gives you time on this Earth, you will want to love and serve him. You won't just want to sit back and say, "I'm saved."  Love, true love, is action.

For Your glory Lord Jesus, and thank You.
