WOW!! GREAT SONG, that can become a great prayer request!!!
Make me broken…Make me empty….Make me lonely.. What a request. But this is where Jesus can, and wants to, become your EVERYTHING….“On earth ( just ) as it is in heaven” Complete, not lacking anything.. Matthew 6:10 and James 1: 2-4.
The truth of the matter is, if you give anyone your heart it will possibly be broken, but you want to feel, you don’t want your heart to become calloused. Then at least you know you have a heart like Jesus. The order of giving our heart away is usually not in the right order. We give it to everything, or everyone else before we give it completely to Jesus and His will for us.
Many of us have been in this empty, lonely place. So dark, that I know some of us have even prayed for God to take us home, where we know there is no more pain, and no more tears. But there is so much that God wants to teach us first, and it is not going to be on an easy road. I’ve learned that if Jesus’s walk wasn’t easy, mine won’t be either. But if God the Father held His Son through it all, HE WILL HOLD ME TOO!
When you don’t know what to do, and you just don’t have the words to pray anymore, Jesus begins to teach you how to pray “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” You begin to surrender everything that you hold so dear and trust God with it all. Letting go of your will to see what He has for you. Then after some time of praying this prayer, you don’t want to go home anymore, at least not right now, because heaven has come to you!!!
You will realize that God is making you into the image of His Son. After all, that is His will for us. For us to want no one more than Him. Till He is our one desire, our one true love, our breath, our everything. This is where we become a reflection of Christ to others who are broken, empty, and lonely. This is where you get to glorify God, and ALL that He has taught you through your pain that you thought would NEVER end. You will meet many who are lost, and many believers that God will send your way so that you can shine some light onto their path as they prayerfully move closer to God.
Learn to just take a quick glance at this vast army, but FIX your eyes on Jesus! 2 Chronicles 20:12 “For we have no power to face this vast army….We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on YOU.” Look also at Psalms 141:8---James 1: 2-4----Hebrews 12:2.
