There will come a day when this earth will wear out. We will stand face to face before the throne... are you ready?
Talking
about the end times is a very touchy subject with many. You have to
search the scriptures for yourself and let the Holy Spirit of the living
God speak to you. One thing I
know for sure, is our focus shouldn't be on when it will happen. It
should be on seeking God to be Spiritually prepared for the times that
are coming, and making sure we are sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Matthew 24: 36-44,
Jesus is very clear that “NO ONE knows about that day or hour, not even
the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” Verse 36,
“So you must be ready because the Son of Man WILL COME at an hour when
you do not expect Him.” Verse 44.
If you go back to the beginning of this chapter,
Jesus tells you of the things that must happen: Wars, famine, earthquakes, "All these are the beginning of birth pains." (Matthew 24: 6-8).
Read all of chapter 24 for yourself. It is full of information to help
you stand firm till the end, for the hard times ahead. Jesus is your
peace, and your strength as you press on in this world.
A lot of people ask the question, “Will I see my family and friends in heaven?” I
find comfort in believing when my life comes to an end, I will
recognize my family who has gone before me. As long as they put their
faith and trust in Jesus Christ, we will all be together one day. Read
God’s word for yourself, and again, let the Holy Spirit speak to you:
In
the old testament when a person died, they were, “gathered to his
people,” Genesis 25:8 - 35:29 - 49:29 - Numbers 20: 24.
What David said when his son died, "I will go to him, but he will not return to me." (2 Samuel 12: 23).
At the transfiguration, Moses and Elijah were recognizable. Peter offers to build shelters, "one for [God], one for Moses and one for Elijah." (Matthew 17: 3-4).
My personal favorite is the many people who recognized Jesus after His resurrection:
"Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She... cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (teacher)." (John 20: 16-20).
If God thought it important to show us in His Word in the old testament events, and the new testament events, and that even His Son was recognizable, then I believe He was trying to comfort us, knowing that would be a question of many of us. He is the God of all creation, and knows all our worries, fears, and questions. The answers are in His written Word. Are you finding comfort there? (Selah).
I
pulled some scripture to show you what I believe about recognizing each
other in heaven. If you don’t believe that, try to find the scripture
that says we won’t.
The
other thing I know for sure is, I have asked Jesus to forgive me of my
sins, and be Lord of my life. I know the only way I can walk this life,
and the world the way it is, is with Him. He makes my way, "straight before me." (Psalms 5:8).
“You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
and have their being.” (Revelations 4:11).
I sing it now, and I’ll sing it one day forever... Blessing and honor glory and power forever to our God!
Grace and peace to you
Kim
