You are more.

Great video - can you relate to anything written on the chalk board? It can all be washed away.  “It’s not about what you’ve done, but what’s been done for you. It’s not about where you’ve been, but where your brokenness leads you to.”

Can we see what God sees in the depths of someone’s heart? What they struggle to be free from? The cries of their heart? Luke 6: 45, “For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.”  Now if they are just being flat out ignorant, that’s another story. Let’s let God be the judge. All we can do is be obedient to what He is leading us to be, and do.

Sin is sin, big or small, it’s all the same.  “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God...” (Romans 3:23).  That means me and you. ,  As Christians, we are suppose to "follow the example of Christ." (1 Corinthians 11: 1).  We should speak the truth in love, only if the Spirit is prompting you to do so, or it’s best to keep quiet, and pray continually.

I can remember every person who God sent to speak to me about sin and what broke His heart, which made me realize I couldn't do this on my own. I needed forgiveness, and Jesus in my life. Love leads to repentance.  I also remember the ones who didn't let me see the Loving God of the bible. You don’t beat someone up and lead them to Christ, “Gods kindness... [leads] to repentance." (Romans 2: 4).

Eventually I learned, by seeking the truth from His Word. He loved me right where I was at, He just hated the things I was doing and didn't want me to stay there. He knew eventually consequences would come. Look at the life of Whitney Houston. I think it’s evident that she loved Jesus, she just couldn't break the addiction. The consequence was her life on earth.

I talk to people who struggle with homosexuality, addictions of many kinds; alcohol, drugs, caffeine, food. Just as sin is sin, addiction is addiction, and God would love for us to be free of the things that will eventually take its toll on our health, and quality of life.

Most of these people love God, and profess Jesus as Savior. Who are we to judge, or think we know their hearts prayer? We should be praying that their chains of addiction lead them to know they are in need of a Savior, which leads to repentance, and turning from sin. Acts 3:19, “Repent then and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” You are more than the choices you have made in the past, you can be made new:

"in Christ... the old has gone, the new is here!" (2 Corinthians 5:17).

"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past." (Isaiah 43:18).

"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you," (Ezekiel 36:26).

"He who was seated on the throne said, 'I am making everything new!'" (Revelations 21:5).

Romans 8:1-13, “Therefore, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus... For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live."  I have seen people set free from every one of the addictions I have mentioned above, and have been made new. It is a choice, and “with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19: 26).

“Is anything to hard for the Lord?” (Genesis 18: 14).

Grace and peace to you
Kim
