I love the rain, because it is so relaxing, but when the rain, the storms of life come, that’s another story...
Happiness
should never be based on our outside circumstances, or our position in
life. These things can change, but God NEVER changes. Malachi 3:6, Anyone can give God praise when the going is easy, but what about in
the storms. That tells the real story of a person’s character, and their
love, and worship for Jesus.
Have you had storms in your life, a cross to carry? Matthew 10:38, If not, you will someday. How will you feel about God then? What will
your life story say? Can circumstances possibly change who you are in
Christ, or your love for Him? Romans 8:37, He truly is our only shelter, and we should draw closer to Him through these times, Psalm 46:1.
In Christ, we are in perfect position, here on earth, and forever. He made a way for us by suffering His destiny, Hebrews 12: 2-3.
I
thought of myself when I read this devotional the other day, on a weary
women, and a dream she had on not wanting to carry her cross anymore.
She was tired, and it didn’t seem fair to her. She saw all these other
crosses that seemed better than hers, a lot less of a load. So God said
to her, “O.K. you’re tired. I will take you home with me now.” She
responded, “Oh no, not so soon. Let me stay and suffer for you a while
longer, I have not yet praised you.”
God
knows best, what cross we need to bear, and we never know how heavy
someone else’s cross may be. So when your load seems to heavy, remember
the words Jesus said in His word to us, “Come to me, all you who are
weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11: 28-30.
I
realize, if you truly follow Jesus, He wants to be our EVERYTHING.
Surrender all, and trust Him that He is in full control, and aware of
all your going through. He’s been there too.
“So what’s a little rain”
