"I turn to YOU"

I read a devotional the other day, and it brought to my mind the countless times I have been rescued from danger. God is so true, and faithful to His word. Psalm 91: 11-12 “He will command His angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways: they will lift you up in their hands”… the amazing thing to me is, He did this for me countless times before I even turned to Him to be my savior.
Now a day’s your life can be in danger anywhere, even in your own home. It doesn’t matter anymore where you are, it’s WHOSE you are. I can take all the precautions I want, but ultimately it’s God who keeps me safe. Psalm 121:2 “My help comes from the Lord.”
When I was a teenager, God protected me in a head on collision. A drunk driver came into my lane, and back then seat belts wasn’t a law. Well he struck me, and I went into the windshield, and back into my seat. I don’t remember much, except when I got out of the hospital, my dad took me to the junk yard to see my car,.. what was left of it. You wouldn’t think anyone made it out of that car. Not my time yet.
Just the other day I was helping my dad trim my palm trees. Something happened to the saw, and my dad asked me to hold it while he looked at it. Well he forgot to unplug it, and needless to say, he pulled the trigger and it just missed cutting my arm, but not my long sleeve shirt. It could have really been bad. I thanked Jesus over and over, and so did my dad. Protected again.
I heard this story  a while back, and I just love it. It is of a little boy who’s mom and dad would fight all the time, sometimes it got very violent. One of the fights got so bad that his dad killed his mom. The little boy would always hide behind a sofa when they fought. When his dad went to jail, he was taken to a foster home. He always told them that someone was holding his hand behind the sofa, and keeping him calm. They asked him “who was it?” He pointed to a picture hanging on the wall of Jesus, and said, “He was.” Believe what you want, but I believe that with all my heart.
I know there will come a time in my life when God will allow something to come to me, that will bring me home to Him. But not until His work with me is done. Psalm 139:16. Until then, I will continue to turn to Him, and He will “rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to His heavenly kingdom.” 2 Timothy 4:18.

Grace and peace to you
Kim
