Nothing makes the Word of God more precious, more
than a story, than to someone who has had, and has times of trouble. A
person like this, who has experienced great difficulties, you will not
find them far from their worn out, tear stained, well written in bible.
My
bible is so full of written notes, and tear stained pages of
experiences that God has brought me through. I love looking back over my
bible, reminding myself of how mindful God is of me, Psalm 8:3-4.
How He heard me every time I cried out desperately for Him to comfort
me. Sometimes I didn’t like what His word said, but he was true to His
promise of “peace that passes ALL UNDERSTANDING”. I will not part from
that bible until the good Lord takes me home. Then my children will get
it, and they will read my life story of notes written in that bible,
along with the precious Word of God, and all He got me through.
When
we run to God, taking comfort in the promises of His Word, we find more
of Him than we have ever before seen, or known. It is through the
trials, that God gives us a fresh look at who He is, and how much bigger
He is than anything we can go through. God’s greatest desire is to be
our Father. This only happens when we accept Jesus’ brutal death on the
cross, forgiving us of our sins, and Lord, and Savior of our lives.
You
can go through the motions of trying to read your bible in a year, but
has it really gone from just your head, to breaking your heart. Knowing
in your head the golden rule, that Jesus died to set the sinner free,
just isn’t enough. It has to go from your head, to your heart. That’s
when it becomes more than a story. It will start changing your life
around. Jesus becomes the air that you breath, the water you thirst for,
and the ground beneath your feet. “ Everything to you”
Psalm 119:105 “ Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
You
can’t, and don’t want to conceal all He is to you. You want to tell the
world you found, a LOVE that turned your life around, so they can taste
and see.
Aren’t you tired of giving your heart to everyone, and everything else?
Then
give your heart away to the only One who in Him, there is no divorce,
there is no concept of abandonment. He “Will NEVER leave you forsake
you.”
Jesus is “More than a story, more than words of a page of History”
Grace and peace to you
Kim
