Hope this song starts you singing songs of “Christ” to others.
Christmas wouldn’t even be a word if it wasn’t for Christ.
Luke 2:10-11 “I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you, He is Christ the Lord.” You wouldn’t even be able to read this scripture, or have anything written after the book of Malachi in the Old Testament. Thank God it didn’t end there, because “God so loved the world.”
Christmas is a beautiful time of year. People love all the festivities, lights, Christmas songs, presents under the tree, etc. Beyond all this, the GREATEST GIFT there is, was wrapped in a manger. God’s gift to us. A Savior in a manger changed everything. Death has no sting, hell has no power, our sins are washed away.
The New Testament is where all our hope is spoken through Christ Himself. We would never have heard about being guilty of sin, and in need of a Savior. Jesus spoke this Himself in John 15:22, “If I had not come and spoken to them...”
Let’s just think of some of the things there wouldn’t be:
There would be no gospel of God so loving the world, John 3:16. No message of promise, of a place spoken about after our time here to go to, John 14:2-3, because there would have been no resurrection. No message of comfort spoken about at funerals, just one long goodbye. No joy to the world, no peace on earth, no songs we join together to sing in church, because there wouldn’t be one to go to.
No hope like the little boy had in the movie, and song, “Christmas shoes.” A movie about a poor family, and his mama, who was very sink. He wanted to buy her a new pair of shoes to look beautiful if she met Jesus that night. That little boy, without knowing, gave the greatest gift, to that rich man in the shoe store that day. A man who had everything but Christ. It opened his eyes to the meaning of Christmas…. Giving….
Let’s not lose the reason why we celebrate each year. Let’s not be ashamed to say “Merry Christmas.” It’s not in your heart to offend anyone, so say it, sing it!
This is Christmas, because of Jesus Christ. No more “Silent Night”, that was 2000 years ago. Let’s get loud…. “Come let us adore Him” Give back to the world, what God gave us. Lift your voice of Praise!
Enjoy the song… click it, and sing it loud!
Merry Christmas
Kim
