Courageous... Ecclesiastes 4:12

My pastor just starting teaching a series on being courageous. Between his message, and what I personally go through in my home life every day, inspired me to write this.

We just got a flyer in the mail from work, and I love the title on the front, “A totally rewarding journey,” and on the back it said, “Journeys may go in different directions, but they all start here.”

This is so true. It is so rewarding, and it starts with Jesus, and a relationship with Him. In my home, I have been the one to do the best I could to lead  my children as Gods word says. If you are a parent, you know that’s not easy because you are learning from God along the way too. Especially the teen years. I never feared talking about Jesus to anyone, except my husband. Only because of the way he would respond.

1 John 4:18… As I grew in relationship with Jesus, I became stronger, and more courageous. I knew why my marriage wasn’t what it should be, and why the battle with my kids was harder than it should have been in those teen years. You have to be on the same journey together, teaching from God’s work, not what anyone else tells you.

I am not afraid anymore. 2 Timothy 1:7-8… “For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, of love, and of self discipline. So do not be ashamed to testify about our lord...”  I love my husband with the heart, and patience of the Lord, that I prayed for. I continue to pray for him. He always comes to church, but the love relationship is not there with Jesus. He tells us how to recognize it, “by their fruit” Galatians 5:16-22.

I thank God my kids are in relationship with Jesus, and both married, and on their journey now with their family. I can see we need to be courageous women, and pray for the men of our families. A lot of women bring their children, and sit alone in church. Don’t be afraid to tell your husband’s how God, and you, feel about this. Stand up for what is right for you, and your children. Remember, Jesus stands with you in this fight for our families. Family is everything to Jesus. Broken homes, and men, is everything to the devil.

Ecclesiastes 4:12 “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of “THREE” strands is not easily broken.”

Be Courageous”

Grace and peace, and strength to you
