Great are you, Lord.

My mom came to my house while I was just starting to clean. She said “but your house already looks clean.” I said, “yes but I know there is a lot of hidden dust you don’t see, but I do.”  Nothing is hidden from the one who knows their own house inside, and every area that needs to be cleaned out.

Jesus purchased us with His blood, and wants to wash us clean.  We are His house.

I love the word of God.  His word should cut through the pages, right to our hearts to change us.  The word of God is meant to teach, rebuke, correct, and train us in righteousness, 2 Timothy 3:16.  It is not meant for us to take lightly.

Today it seems that many churches are candy coating the messages to have a great number of people in the church, rather than a great number in the Kingdom of God, 2 Timothy 4:2-5.  God warns us about this kind of teaching, that teach what the itching ears want to hear.

I am so thankful for my pastor, and his teachings of God’s word.  It has made me sink in my seat many times, and ask God to change me in many areas of my life.  I have seen it with my children as well.  That is what God’s word is meant to do, to change us. To cause us to repent in areas of our life that break God’s heart, Revelations 2:14-16.  Jesus expects us to represent Him well, not candy coat God’s word just to have a great number of friends.  Don’t take lightly the suffering of Jesus for our sins.  It was the most brutal death, and He did it all for us, while we were yet sinnersRomans 5:8.  What Great love for us!
1 John 3:1-6, No one who lives in Him keeps on sinning willingly.

So if we keep on living the way we choose, and going to churches that just make us feel good, how could we be imitators of Christ? 3 John 1:11 - Ephesians 5:1.  God’s word should change you, not keep you in a comfort zone.

Just look at the cross.

Grace and peace to you
Kim
