I'm still yours... John 19:11

Nothing that is not part of God’s will is allowed to come into our lives.

The movie, “Soul Surfer” is a must see movie with the whole family.  It is about a professional girl surfer and her family; who all believe in Jesus Christ. She was out practicing for one of the biggest competitions of her life when a shark comes and takes her arm off!  Well,  the movie really takes off from there. Nothing but her faith, hope, and perseverance from within herself, and people who never let her give up hope, kept her going. The one part of the movie that got me the most, was when she cried out, “How could this be God’s purpose for me?”

John 19:11, “You have no power over me, if it were not given to you from above.”  At any time in our lives, anything can happen to us personally, or our loved ones.

When I look at the devastation in Haiti from the earthquake, so many lives lost, so many homeless. What gets me the most, is seeing them still praising God.  Reminds me of the story in the bible of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. They would not serve the kings god’s; the king gave them many chances, but they would not bow down.  They were sent into a blazing furnace by orders of the king, but they knew God would save them, and He did.  The king sent three into the furnace, but when he looked in he saw four unharmed.  Got to read this story in Daniel 3:1-30.

Things happen in our lives that we don’t understand.  All we have is this hope from God’s word... Romans 8:28, “All things work out for the good of those who love Him…"

There is a purpose for everything.

When I think that my troubles are many, and I hear other peoples hardships, my troubles are few.

Listen to the song…  we all need to ask ourselves, Will Jesus be enough for us?

Grace and peace to you
Kim

P.S. see the movie, and read Daniel chapter 3.
