1 John 4:7-8 “ Beloved, let us love one
another, for love is of God: and everyone who loves is born of God. He
who does not love, does not know God, for God is love."
God created human beings with fellowship
in mind; First with Himself, then with others. We have it backwards, we
go for others first before seeking God. We cannot fully love, until we
ourselves have experienced love of God. We need to surrender to His call
to be our Savior, Lord, and friend... Then see how things
go for you. Whatever problems you face, He will face them with you. He
will give you a peace in your heart that you never imagined, even with
the same problems. Psalm 34:10 “Those who seek the Lord, shall not lack any good thing.”
The
part of this song that I love is, “Everlasting, and Never ending...”
That’s not what love looks like today, because so many people go by
feelings and conditions being right. Love isn't just a feeling; it’s a
commitment. People today treat relationships like a car that you could
trade in because it doesn’t look like it use to, or run like it use to. I
love what my pastor said one Sunday “The grass is not greener on the
other side, just pull the weeds in your own yard.”
Love dies to self. 1 Corinthians 15:31 - Romans 8:4-13 - Galatians 5:16 - Galatians 2:20. Walk in the Spirit, NOT THE FLESH, (Daily)!
So
many of us live beneath our blessings because we don’t die to the flesh
desires, and live in the Spirit,(DAILY)! When you fail to die to self
daily, is the reason why (even Christian people) cheat on their spouses,
and commit other sins against God. True believers don’t knowingly sin.
We can’t stand not feeling God's presence. Sin draws us to repentance: “His forgiveness for every confession,” Not making excuses for it and
saying, “Oh God understands” That’s taking His grace and Mercy lightly.
Dying
to self is a choice you have to make. It is the act of surrendering
your life COMPLETELY to Christ. John 3:16 says He gave up His life for us... “So by this all men will know He is love” as the song goes.
Our life with Christ is not
for an hour or two on Sunday, it’s a 24 Hour, 7 days a week decision.
Grace and peace to you
Kim
